Steve Hedges has been providing workshops and photography courses throughout the UK for over 15 years. “Steve Hedges Photography”, originally known as “ArtEscape Photography”, is a photography course and workshop supplier that teaches a broad range of students – ranging from complete beginner to photography, through to the more advanced photographer. Steve has helped countless people learn how to use their cameras, become technically proficient, improve their creativity and above all develop their eye as a photographer. Our location workshops are limited to just five or a maximum of six participants allowing lots of time for individual tuition. We also offer a range of Distance Learning photography courses, which can be done in your own time from your own home.
Our Photography Courses
All our photography courses are conducted in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere because we believe we all learn more when we are enjoying ourselves. We find that our students get on really well together sharing information, techniques and tips about equipment. In fact, many have gone on to become good photography buddies which is a lovely bonus to attending one of our courses.
We are passionate about teaching photography and love being able to help people move towards their goal of becoming a great photographer. It’s a wonderful hobby or profession. You never stop learning. To book a place on any of our courses, browse our Courses page and select the course you would like to attend.
All photography course categories are shown in the right-hand tool bar of our Courses page. As you see a course you like, hit the “read more” section. Prices and course dates are on the right-hand side of each page plus “add to cart” facilities. For our latest news, please check out our what’s on page.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you would like any more information regarding our photography courses, or indeed if you just need a bit of advice.
Our courses cover the whole of the UK, with some of our most popular locations in Essex, Kent, Suffolk, London or surrounding areas.
Recent Testimonials:
“Thank you for sending the attachments containing photography guidance. I want to to advise you that they are accessible and legible. In relation to the course at Bempton on Thursday 16th May, I wish to say that it was a fantastic day. Not only was Steve informative, helpful and patient but he came across as a true gentleman. He clearly has a wealth of knowledge coupled with vast experience in the field. Nevertheless, he was humble, approachable and inclusive. He also possesses a sense of humour which must be an asset, both when tutoring others or waiting for long periods to capture the desired image, particularly where unpredictable wildlife is the theme. Very early on in the day I knew that I was going to learn things and I was right. Furthermore, although it is too soon to make any further commitments, I would like to think that I will attend another one of Steve’s courses in the future”. David Spicker : Seabirds photography course – May 2024
“Many thanks for all the notes. I’ll spend time reading them through. I thoroughly enjoyed the day with Steve, who was very helpful in explaining how to handle my camera and achieve better photos. I’m a third of the way through editing out the images I don’t want to keep and may post a few on your FB page. In short, I had a great day and it rekindled my interest in nature photography. Many thanks to Steve. All the best”. Alastair Nisbet : Sussex Woodland Bird course – October 2023
“Thank you so much for the course notes. I have to say as a fairly experienced amateur I got a lot of out of the course, and enjoyed the session immensely. I’ll be putting these notes to good use, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone put the points across so clearly and concisely. I actually found Steve to be the most helpful tutor I have come across to date, attentive to all members of the group regardless of ability and informative at the same time. Thank you again, and I’ll certainly be looking up other courses you do.”
Steve Hubbard, Suffolk’s Hidden coast course – November 2021
“I had a great time, so thank you! I learnt some new tricks around evaluative exposure settings. One thing that stands out to me is Steve’s personality. You can immediately sense the passion for photography. Steve, I thought you had a good way of explaining the theory and technical approach too. I hope our paths will cross at some point in the future, in the meantime I will be reading through your email attachments”.
