Steve Hedges photography has been providing workshops and photography courses in Essex, London, Suffolk, Kent, and throughout the south of the UK for many years now. Originally known as “ArtEscape Photography”, we decided to use just “Steve Hedges Photography” as so many people were googling Steve’s name when they saw him giving presentations at local Camera Clubs etc. Steve has helped countless people learn how to use their cameras, become technically proficient, improve their creativity and above all develop their eye as a photographer. Indeed, Country File Online Magazine has been kind enough to list Steve in their top ten UK photography course providers.
We teach a broad range of students from complete beginners to photography through to the more advanced photographer. Our location workshops are limited to just five or a maximum of six participants allowing lots of time for individual tuition. We also offer a range of Distance Learning photography courses which can be done in your own time from your own home.
“Thank you so much for the course notes. I have to say as a fairly experienced amateur I got a lot of out of the course, and enjoyed the session immensely. I’ll be putting these notes to good use, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone put the points across so clearly and concisely. I actually found Steve to be the most helpful tutor I have come across to date, attentive to all members of the group regardless of ability and informative at the same time. Thank you again, and I’ll certainly be looking up other courses you do.” Steve Hubbard, Suffolk’s Hidden coast course – November 2021
“I had a great time, so thank you! I learnt some new tricks around evaluative exposure settings. One thing that stands out to me is Steve’s personality. You can immediately sense the passion for photography. Steve, I thought you had a good way of explaining the theory and technical approach too. I hope our paths will cross at some point in the future, in the meantime I will be reading through your email attachments”. Ben Cripps, Night photography course : December 2019
“Please let Steve know that I enjoyed Monday and found it very informative. I have been on a few similar courses and this was the most interactive I have had, his method was very “hands on’’, he took time to make sure that we understood what we were doing. All I need to do now is to put into practice what he taught us. The notes arrived safely, many thanks for them”. Mick Langston, Essex Photography course, May 2018
All our photography courses are conducted in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere because I think we all learn more when we are enjoying ourselves. I find that my students get on really well together sharing information, techniques and tips about equipment. In fact many have gone on to become good photography buddies which I think is a lovely bonus to attending one of our courses.
