Coronavirus Covid-19 : We are now able to run all of our photography courses – with social distancing measures in place. Please go to top tool bar and click on the “What’s On” page of this website for more information.
Steve Hedges photography has been providing workshops and photography courses in Essex, London, Suffolk, Kent, and throughout the south of the UK and overseas for many years now. Originally known as “ArtEscape Photography”, we decided to use just “Steve Hedges Photography” as so many people were googling Steve’s name when they saw him giving presentations at local Camera Clubs. For many years Steve has helped countless people learn how to use their cameras, become technically proficient, improve their creativity and above all develop their eye as a photographer. Indeed, Country File Online Magazine has been kind enough to list Steve in their top ten UK photography course providers.
We teach a broad range of students from complete beginners to photography through to the more advanced photographer. Our location workshops are limited to just five or a maximum of six participants allowing lots of time for individual tuition. We also offer a range of Distance Learning photography courses which can be done in your own time from your own home.
Recent Testimonies:
“I had a great time, so thank you! I learnt some new tricks around evaluative exposure settings. One thing that stands out to me is Steve’s personality. You can immediately sense the passion for photography. Steve, I thought you had a good way of explaining the theory and technical approach too. I hope our paths will cross at some point in the future, in the meantime I will be reading through your email attachments”. Ben Cripps, Night photography course : December 2019
“Notes received thank you! Please also thank Steve for making this another brilliant workshop – after last year’s Seals, I had high expectations and I wasn’t disappointed. I have come away with some great images, but more importantly a better understanding of the red deer and how best to capture them. My biggest concern was whether or not we’d actually see any deer but I know that Steve did a recce on Thurs pm and knew exactly where to take us and we certainly weren’t disappointed”. Susan Wright, Red Deer wildlife photography course – October 2019
“Please let Steve know that I enjoyed Monday and found it very informative. I have been on a few similar courses and this was the most interactive I have had, his method was very “hands on’’, he took time to make sure that we understood what we were doing. All I need to do now is to put into practice what he taught us. The notes arrived safely, many thanks for them”. Mick Langston, Essex Photography course, May 2018
All our photography courses are conducted in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere because I think we all learn more when we are enjoying ourselves. I find that my students get on really well together sharing information, techniques and tips about equipment. In fact many have gone on to become good photography buddies which I think is a lovely bonus to attending one of our courses.
