Sunrise Photography Essex Coast : Two-Day Course
Essex Sunrise coast : Two-day course
During this two-day sunrise photography course we explore some of the Essex coast’s wild atmospheric locations. From the rugged coastline with crumbling cliffs and crashing waves, to out-of-the-way salt marshes with abandoned boats slowly decaying. The Essex coast has a multitude of subjects to photograph.
Essex, just like Suffolk and Norfolk, boasts big East Anglian skies. which are a joy to photograph and perfect for a stunning sunrise. Alongside these big landscapes are the more intimate locations such as small estuaries, historic lighthouses, beach huts and inland rivers.
My location workshops have a maximum of five students which means there is plenty of time for individual tuition. Because I work with small groups this course is suitable for all levels of photographer from beginner to advanced level.
Over the two days of this photography course, many subjects are included from the technical to the artistic aspects of image making. You will learn about creative use of shutter speed, creative use of depth of field, camera controls and menus, exposure histogram, exposure compensation, exposure modes including manual exposure and spot metering, white balance and the use of photographic filters including the big stopper, to the more artistic areas of photography such as developing the photographer’s eye, good composition and the use of light and colour.
I will send all students a full set of notes relevant to all the subjects covered once the course is completed. The notes are important because it’s really hard to retain all the information we are given. The notes act as a good memory jog which helps each student get the best from their tuition.
My photography courses are run in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, because we all learn more when we’re enjoying ourselves. With a flexible format allowing us to react to changing lighting conditions, giving me plenty of time to answer questions. Each shoot is designed to boost your confidence, so you have a much greater success rate when it comes to taking images with mood and impact.
Although this digital photography workshop is landscape-based, all the skills you will learn are readily transferable to other photographic subjects such as wildlife, sport, architectural and people photography. Each photo shoot will enable you to explore your digital camera and master skills that are useful for a wide range of subjects.
Although there are no long hikes or mountains to climb, a reasonable level of fitness is required for this course.
Accommodation (if needed) for this course is not included.
Through payment of a deposit or a full payment for this course, you agree to the Terms and Conditions. Our Terms and Conditions page can be found here.
Each day begins with all course attendees meeting at a pre-arranged point. I used to take everyone in my own seven-seater car to the different photographic locations, but at the moment, in keeping with the government’s social distancing advice, all course attendees will be required to follow me in their own cars throughout the day. The locations are close to each other and this does not involve driving long distances.
