Distance Learning Artificial Light photography Course

Distance Learning Artificial Light photography Course

This distance learning course covers artificial light, including on-camera flashlight; for example, how to use the camera’s built-in flash unit and hotshoe mounted flash units, as well as studio-style lighting units.

Using flash creatively with long exposures and fill-in flash for professional outside portraits, along with modifying your flash unit’s output; all this is covered in detail.
This course also covers how to shoot various types of subjects, such as glass and reflective subjects, to texture and how to highlight the shape and volume of an object. Photographing multiple subjects is also included.

When shooting in a studio environment the photographer has complete control over how the subject is lit. More than one light can be used to get the required lighting effect. Using multiple lights and controlling lighting ratios is also covered in this course. All the projects for this unit can be completed using your camera’s built-in flash unit and desk lamps can be used for the studio lighting section. No extra equipment is needed.

This course dovetails very well with the portrait distance learning course, although it’s not necessary to take both courses as they are stand-alone units in themselves.

This course consists of four video lessons: How to use camera-mounted flash units, how to use studio lighting, shooting still life/ product photography and getting the correct exposure. There are almost 250 minutes of video content included over this four lesson course.  Alongside the video lessons there are comprehensive back-up notes.

The course material is sent to you via We Transfer. If you would prefer to instantly download this course you can also purchase it at our dedicated online platform www. steve hedges photography online courses.com

There are a number of projects to complete. Photography is a practical subject so it’s important to get out there and take photographs. That’s the fun part in any case! Once you have completed the projects, you would then email them back to me and I’ll assess each image and reply with a constructive critique for each one. There is no time limit for this course – you work at your own rate. I think this is one of the big benefits of a distance learning course. If you have any questions during or after completion of the course, help is available. We are either an email or phone call away.
