Close up photography is a really interesting branch of photography. You can find macro subjects almost anywhere from inside your house or garden to woodlands and wild flower meadows.
On this photography course we will cover all the technical aspects of macro photography such as focusing, controlling depth of field, focus stacking, exposure, white balance, use of flash including off-camera flash and fill-flash as well as the artistic aspects of macro photography.
The number of students on this photography course is limited to five participants to allow plenty of time for individual tuition, which makes this course suitable for all levels of ability. Transport between the different photographic locations is not included but Steve is happy to car-share if you wish. He will be driving a seven-seater people carrier. However, if you prefer to use your own car throughout the course, the photographic locations are close to each other and this does not involve driving long distances.

We meet at 9.00am and the day concludes at around 5pm.
My courses have a flexible format allowing us to react to changing lighting conditions as well as giving me plenty of time to answer any questions you might have. I also strive to make each session as relaxed and fun as possible because I think we all learn more if we don’t feel under pressure.
Once the workshop is finished, all students are sent a full set of notes that cover all the subjects discussed during the course. I think it’s very important to have these notes to refer back to because it’s impossible to retain all the information we have been taught at the time.
