Photography in the Brecon Beacons National Park.

I had a really great trip to the Brecon Beacons National Park a couple of weeks ago. I was there to run my annual Brecon Beacons photography course. This area of Wales has so much photographic  potential, it was real pleasure to be back.

On the evening before the course was due to take place I climbed Pen-y-Fan which is the highest peak in the Beacons. What a fantastic experience this always is. A few of my students joined me at the summit and we were rewarded with stunning views and fantastic light. Well worth the effort to get to the top.  (It’s actually not too difficult a climb – good paths all the way).

I don’t really do much astro-photography but we had a really clear night so it was back into the mountains for some stars-at-night photography.  I have to say it was a fantastic experience seeing so many stars in our night sky. The most I’ve even seen in fact.  It’s also so peaceful.  A great photography shoot.  I spent the next three days teaching my students the best ways to photograph the many diverse subjects found in the Brecon Beacons from waterfalls to ruined abbeys and grand mountain vistas.

All in all, a superb trip. I even managed to find time at the start of the trip to shoot a vlog for my new YouTube channel.  If you are interested in having a look please follow the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9Gf0SL7E6U&t=2s
