Essex Wild Coast Photography Course
The Essex coast is a wonderful place for photography, often overlooked when people are on the way to photograph Suffolk or Norfolk. The day begins with all course attendees meeting at a pre-arranged point. I used to take everyone in my own seven-seater car to the different photographic locations, but at the moment, in keeping with the government’s social distancing advice, all course attendees will be required to follow me in their own cars throughout the day. The locations are close to each other and this does not involve driving long distances.
It’s a wonderful wild area of tidal estuaries, wide deserted beaches, big skies, old wrecked boats slowly falling apart and seaside villages.
On this course we will cover both the technical and artistic areas of photography.
We will cover subjects such as exposure modes, exposure histogram, white balance, exposure compensation, controlling depth of field, creative use of shutter speeds.
We will also look at composition, the use of light and colour and the use of photographic filters.
Because the course is limited to a maximum of five participants there is lots of time for individual tuition. This means I can teach all photographers with different levels of experience on this course.
Depending on each individual’s level of experience we will also look at shooting a digital panoramic image.
All my courses are run with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. I really believe we all learn better when we are having a good time.
At the end of the course I will email every student a full set of comprehensive notes which I think is very important. Even the best of us cannot retain all the information that we are given. The notes are a good back-up for the days learning.
