Kent Photography Course 3
Rochester and Chatham’s historic dockyard photography course
This photography course takes in two very different locations. The morning is spent photographing Rochester. With its ancient castle, superb cathedral and cobbled streets, there is more than enough to keep any photographer happy. The afternoon location is Chatham’s historic dockyard which is a complete contrast to the morning’s location. Maritime history is evident around every corner from a full-sized submarine to boats and ships of all shapes and sizes. There are also many old buildings full of character just waiting to be photographed, including an old police box just like the one in BBC’s “Doctor Who”, although I don’t know if this one’s bigger on the inside!
Many subjects are covered during this digital photography course such as:
- exposure modes,
- exposure histogram,
- white balance,
- exposure compensation,
- focus modes,
- creative use of aperture,
- creative use of shutter speeds,
- developing the photographer’s eye,
- creative use of light and colour,
- photographic filters.
Almost any camera equipment will be fine for this course. You do not need to have an expensive camera. A tripod will be useful but again, not essential. Although this course takes place in a slightly more urban setting, all the skills taught on this course are easily transferable, which means this photography course is perfect for all, regardless of the type of photography you generally like to do.
Along with improving your camera skills, this one-day photography training course places much emphasis on composition. Through attention to design, detail and a more considered approach you will learn to develop your eye and take your image-making to a higher artistic level.
All my photography courses are conducted in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. I think we all learn more when we are enjoying ourselves.
This course is limited to five students. After the day is finished all participants will be sent a full set of notes covering all the subjects we have discussed and practiced during the course.
Through payment of a deposit or a full payment for this course, you agree to the Terms and Conditions of our Photography Courses as stipulated on our Terms and Conditions page.
