One-to-One Wildlife Photography Courses
Training By A Professional Wildlife Photographer
For those students who feel that they would like to spend a day having individual photography tuition rather than learning in a small group, we offer our one-to-one wildlife photography courses. This will provide you with an individual, personal learning course allowing you to take full advantage of our one-to-one teaching programme. Learning new things whilst having fun at the same time is fantastic, and with our one-to-one photography tuition day you will do just that! Our one-to-one tuition will provide you with an array of knowledge and skills as you progress through your photography course. Having developed over 25 years of experience as a professional photographer, Steve Hedges is the photographer to call on for professional and effective learning!
If you are interested in wildlife photography, there are a number of very good nature reserves that can be visited – depending on the time of year. During the one-to-one wildlife photography course we would concentrate on techniques relevant to perfecting your skills and knowledge of wildlife photography.
What The Photography Course Covers
Subjects covered include: focus modes, exposure modes, white balance, depth of field, how to avoid camera-shake, equipment for wildlife photography, use of light and of course, composition. One of the biggest problems people face when photographing wildlife and using long focal lengths is achieving sharp pictures. We will look at this subject in great detail. Field craft: how to get close to wildlife is also a very important subject which is specific to wildlife photography we will also cover this in detail.
The locations we use for one-to-one or one-to-two wildlife photography course days are the Essex area and the Suffolk area. For an extra charge, we can carry out one-to-one or one-to-two wildlife photography tuition days at Pensthorpe Natural Park located in Norfolk. We have to charge a little extra for this location as due to where Steve travels from, his travel and time costs are more expensive for the day; so the cost for this would be £230.00 for a one-to-one day or £250.00 for a one-to-two day. Depending on the type of wildlife we will be photographing, a lens with an effective focal length of at least 300mm will be a must for our one-to-one wildlife photography courses. A super zoom such as a 150mm to 600mm lens would be ideal as would prime lenses of 300mm, 500mm or 600mm.
I can also focus a wildlife one-to-one on macro photography as part of the one-to-one photography courses that we offer. The technical aspects of macro photography are quite different from general photography so we would concentrate the day on aspect relating to macro photography.

The cost of a full day’s one-to-one wildlife photography tuition is: £175.00 If you interested in a “One-to-two” photography tuition day (very popular with couples or friends for instance) the cost for this is £225.00
After completion of the wildlife photography course, a full set of notes will be emailed to you detailing all the relevant subjects covered during the day.

Please note that if you book a one-to-one wildlife photography training course (or indeed a one-to-two day) it can only be on a weekday (Monday – Friday) as weekends are taken up with our other courses.
